Business of the Year

 

Open to all businesses that began operations prior to January 1, 2014. Awarded to a business that demonstrates success and exceptional performance in the manufacturing, industrial, retail, tourism or service sectors. The judges’ criteria will include the business growth, financial success, job creation, stability, and community involvement of the nominated businesses.

Citizen of the Year

 

Criteria for the Citizen of the Year Award


1. Citizen of the Year Award nominees will be nominated by the general public
2. Nominees must be a citizen of the town of Kindersley and area.
3. Nominee must be age twenty-one (21) or older
4. The achievement(s) on which the nomination is based must occur between February 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016 to be eligible.
5. Nominations should be based on excellence in one or more of the following areas:
• Nominee is actively involved in community work and/or service club’s/church groups outside of their place of employment or educational facility
• Nominee has had an positive impact in the community
• Nominee has demonstrated a personal commitment to the benefit of the community
• Has performed an outstanding achievement or act of heroism
• The community has benefited from this person’s involvement
• Has overcome significant personal adversity
• Has positive and inspiring personal attributes that serve to encourage others

Customer Service of the Year

 

Awarded to a business that consistently demonstrates excellence in service and/ or hospitality. Criteria may include evidence of the level of service offered by the business, training and the overall success of the business. Judging will take into account the relative size of the business.

Employee of the Year

 

The Employee of the Year Award recognizes an employee for his/her outstanding contribution to their employer during the past year. The award will showcase his/her work ethic and achievements.
1.Employee of Year nominees may be nominated by their employer, manager, or co – worker
2. Nominee must be a regular employee of a business licensed in the Town of Kindersley
3. The achievements on which the nomination is based must occur between February 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016 to be eligible
4. Nominations should be based on one or more of the following areas:
• Is dependable and punctual in reporting for duty, and is productive and committed to quality in performing of assigned tasks
• Takes initiative, is willing to accept and carry out additional job duties and consistently exceeds expectations
• Excels in knowledge and expertise and willingly and successfully learns new skills as needed
• Portrays a positive attitude towards work responsibilities and works well with other members of the staff
• Displays leadership skills and exceptional work habits and serves a positive role model to influence and inspire others
• Offers professional and ethical customer service on a consistent basis
• An act of heroism

Lend a Hand

 

The ” Lend a Hand ” Award showcases non – profit and community groups whose achievements have resulted in a significant and positive social impact in the community. Criteria for the “Lend a Hand” Award
1. “Lend a Hand” Award nominees may be nominated by the general public, employee and/or any other business industry
2. Nominees must be a registered non – profit organization, social agency, or community group within the town of Kindersley
3. The achievement(s) on which the nomination is based must occur between February 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016 to be eligible.
4. Nominations should be based on excellence in the following areas:

• Nominee serves as a role model for honesty, ethics and integrity and exhibits excellence in the service(s) they provide
• Nominee encourages and incorporates volunteers within the organization without prejudice
• Demonstrates an ability to identify and effectively address needs within the social fabric of the community with innovative and identifiable positive results

New Business of the Year

 

New Business of the Year Open to all businesses that began operations prior to January 1, 2016. Awarded to a business that demonstrates exceptional performance in launching a newly created Saskatchewan – made product or service in the past 3 years, which is original and currently available to consumers. The business must be for a profit business and have their head office in the Kindersley Region.

Rural Roots

 

The Rural Roots Award recognizes excellence in agricultural achievement and to help foster rural – urban understanding. The award is based on a farmer’s contribution to the agricultural industry and community life.

1.Rural Roots Award nominees may be nominated by the general public, employee and/or any other business industry
2. Nominees must be a farmer residing in the Rural Municipality of Kindersley and area
3. The achievement(s) on which the nomination is based must occur between February 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016 to be eligible.
4. Nominations should be based on excellence in the following areas:
• Nominee’s longevity in farming the land for which he/she has been nominated
• Farm has a reliable history of crop and/or livestock production that meets or exceeds expected standards
• The nominee is devoted to the success of their industry and is professionally involved in progressing their agricultural career through education and/or is involved in associations related to their industry
• The individual nominated makes use of innovative equipment and techniques to better enhance the quality and/or quantity or their product
• The nominee exhibits a commitment to the environment through the intelligent management of natural and sustainable resources

Small Business of the Year

 

Open to all businesses that began operations prior to January 1, 2014. A business that has demonstrated excellence in the areas they consider a key to their success. The business winning this category will have stated their critical success factors and clearly demonstrated how they are achieved while meeting their goals in these factors. The business must have been in operation within the past three years.

Young Citizen of the Year

 

The Young Citizen of the Year Award recognizes outstanding contribution to the community in persons under the age of twenty – one (21).

Criteria for the Young Citizen of the Year Award
1. Citizen of the Year Award nominees will be nominated by the general public
2. Nominees must be a citizen of the town of Kindersley and area.
3. Nominee must be age twenty – one (21) or younger and enrolled in an educational facility or equivalent.
4. The achievement(s) on which the nomination is based must occur between February 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016 to be eligible.
5. Nominations should be based on excellence in one or more of the following areas:
• Nominee is actively involved in community work and/or service club’s/church groups outside of their place of employment or educational facility
